This is Boris - John Entwistle fans will know what I mean. The body is mahogany with a curly maple top. The centre core of the body is a maple and purpleheart laminate to match the maple and purpleheart laminated neck. The neck has twenty four Dunlop 6000 frets on an ebony fingerboard with blue Sims LED's for position dots and side marks.
The pickups are custom built Villex linear humbuckers controlled through two volume controls, the standard Villex mid tone shaping control and a Villex mid-booster. The excellent bridge is from WD Music and the machineheads are Schaller with a Hipshot Extender on the E string.
The really strong fundamentals from the Villex pickups enable really thundering bass lines at one end of the scale whilst a quick tweak of the mid control can scoop out the middle for really articulate slap style bass lines.
The body is finished in high gloss polyester with a nitro natural satin finish on the neck.
