CH5150

This "Superstrat" was inspired by a blend of the EVH 5150 and a J Frog custom build. The body is swamp ash finished in Amber lacquer. The neck is rock maple with a flame maple fingerboard, jumbo frets and 7mm abalone dots, all finished in sealer coat except for the headstock which has a gloss finished ebony veneer . The sealer finish gives a really natural bare wood feel.

Pickups are a Bare Knuckle Nailbomb at the bridge and a Mothers Milk (soon to be changed for a Sinner) at the neck. Hardware is by Gotoh.

I built this for Chris Hughes And this is what Chris had to say about it on the Bare Knuckle Forum:

"The level of craftsmanship is unbelievable, couldn't find anything to fault Bob on, the fit and finish (and setup) is spot on. It's got sweet contours on the body and the neck joint is one of the most comfy and accessible I've played. The Wizard style maple neck feels amazing, really fast.

One thing which you cant see in the photos is some extra detailing like the carbon fibre effect back plates and the headstock; its not painted black, its a piece of ebony veneer, and has a really nice grain running through it! The flaming on the fingerboard is really sweet as well.

Oh and it came in a swish black\gold logo'd Legra case. Nice!

Sound wise the Nailbomb (bridge pickup) is great and the Mothers Milk (neck pickup) is really vintage sounding, very nice indeed.

I'd HIGHLY recommend Bobs work to anyone thinking of a custom axe, the proof is in the playing."
